In-home photo session, why?

Why I’m Falling in Love with In-Home Photo Sessions

At home with the Jenkins Family.

Lately, I’ve been falling more and more in love with photographing families in the comfort of their own homes. There’s just something special about it. The kids are more relaxed, the vibe is cozy, and best of all—it’s your space. The place where toys get scattered, meals are shared, and memories are made. It’s the backdrop to bedtime stories, birthday mornings, holiday baking, and all the beautiful chaos that makes up your family life.

I get it—you might be thinking, But Ali, my house isn’t new or picture-perfect like the ones I see online. Here's the truth: that doesn’t matter. Your little ones won’t remember if the living room was spotless or if the kitchen was styled just right. They’ll remember snuggling on the couch, baking cookies with you, and dancing around barefoot on the hardwood floors. That’s what we’re capturing. That’s what truly matters.

About a month ago, I got to visit my sweet friend Ashley from Powder Room Rentals out in Idaho City. She recently built her dream home in the mountains, and let me tell you—it’s stunning. We spent the day soaking in the views and documenting her family in their beautiful space, surrounded by nature and love. It was pure magic, and a reminder of just how meaningful home truly is.

So if you’ve been on the fence about where to do your next family session, consider staying right where you are. Your home is already the perfect setting.

Ashley and her sweet family recently got a new puppy, which was the perfect opportunity to get pictures of the new house and how excited the pup got to be included in the family photos!
